The faculty of the Tobin Children's School are dedicated, responsible early childhood professionals committed to the exceptional care and development of young children. Forty percent of teachers have been at TCS for over 5 years.
Teachers
All teachers are certified in First Aid and CPR. In addition, a minimum twenty hours of professional development per year are required in areas such as: behavior management, effective room arrangement, providing developmentally appropriate curriculum, designing and implementing appropriate and understandable holiday celebrations for children, enhancing pre reading and pre writing opportunities, and identifying children with special needs.
Consultants
The School contracts with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Health Consultant and an Educational Consultant.
The Social Worker consults on and works with children, teachers and families with regard to behavioral, social or emotional issues that are present at home or in the classroom.
The Health Consultant is employed to professionally monitor children's medical records, teacher's medical records and to help clarify and enforce the School's health care policy. The Health Consultant also maintains the annual immunization survey.
The Educational Consultant is contracted to help evaluate and promote the continued success of the classroom teachers and developmentally appropriate curriculum. This consultant is available to meet with Program Directors and individual teachers on a continuing basis.
